"Time Capsule" is a collection of songs that I wrote 5 to 15 years ago, living quietly old hard drive until I recently discovered some incredible generative AI music tools for in the summer of 2025. After a lot of editing, I was able to render the songs exactly as I'd originally dreamed.
These songs and lyrics were originally written throughout high school, college, grad school, and entering busy family life. A handful of them songs kept resurfacing over the years.
My creative process started with melodies that pop in my head and get stuck there (often with incomplete lyrics). The next part was usually the hardest- creating a matching verse or chorus and writing lyrics in a way that tells a meaningful or personal story with a compelling message. Next, I fed my recordings and lyrics into Suno.ai with specific style prompts and then refined the ocals and instrumentals until it matched my original vision. Sometimes AI added in some amazing surprises.
To make the cut for the album, each song either had to give me goosebumps or bring at least one tear to my eyes. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! Thanks so much for listening!!

Huge shout out to my sister, Marita O'Connell, for her lyrical contributions to "Together" and "Forever Love" and to my wife, Linda, for the constructive feedback on half of the album. All other lyrics were written by me – unfortunately AI is still quite bad at piecing together good lyrics IMO, so lyricists probably have another 1–2 years of runway :P.
